Recipes

Each recipe gives a request you can type, the tools the assistant is likely to use, and what to look for. You never name the tools yourself; they show how the pieces fit, and help when you build your own client.

Plan a weekend

Ask: "What's on this weekend in Dhaka? I like live music and food. Suggest a plan."

1. list_cities with country set to BD gives the city id.
2. list_events with that city and the weekend dates returns candidates.
3. get_event on the best three to five confirms time, venue and ticket prices before the assistant quotes them.

Look for: each event's local time, price and link. Assistants are told to call get_event before quoting prices or availability.

Find a venue for an occasion

Ask: "Find a venue for a birthday dinner for 20 people in Dhaka, under 50,000 BDT, on 5 December."

1. list_venue_filters returns the venue types and amenities, so the assistant can use the right keys.
2. find_venues with city, guest count and price narrows the list.
3. get_venue on the top three, then venue_availability for the date, or venue_slots for a sports pitch.
4. venue_reviews for ratings.

Next step: with the Venue inquiries permission, "Ask the first one if the evening of 5 December is free" calls send_venue_inquiry. The venue replies on eventa.live with a quote. Nothing is booked and nothing is paid.

Check what you have booked

Ask: "What tickets do I have coming up?"

list_my_tickets returns purchased tickets and RSVP tickets with event, local time and check-in state. Entry QR codes are not shown: open the ticket on eventa.live or in the app to get in.

Ask: "Am I going to the jazz night?" uses get_my_rsvp, which returns your own answer and the totals only.

RSVP and manage plans

Ask: "RSVP me to the Dhaka jazz night, and if it's full put me on the waitlist."

1. get_event confirms the event accepts RSVPs.
2. rsvp_to_event with response set to going. If the organizer must approve, the result says so.
3. If the event is full, join_event_waitlist.

Changing your mind: "Cancel my RSVP" uses cancel_rsvp.

Join a club

Ask: "Find running clubs in Dhaka and join the biggest one."

find_clubs with the city, then get_club to see how joining works (open, approval, or invite only), then join_club. Clubs that ask screening questions or are invite-only cannot be joined this way, and the assistant gives you the club page instead.

Host: morning check

Ask: "How are my events doing today?"

1. my_hosted_events lists your events with ticket sales.
2. event_dashboard gives today's orders and revenue, tickets issued, check-ins and a count per ticket tier.

Host: approve waiting guests

Ask: "Who's waiting for approval on the jazz night? Approve the first three."

1. list_pending_rsvps shows guests in order, with any note they left.
2. decide_rsvps with decision set to approve and the three ids. The first call returns a preview with the guests' names and a confirmation token. The assistant shows you the list.
3. After you agree, it repeats the call with the token. The result reports each guest separately, so one that cannot be approved (for example because the event is full) does not stop the others.

Guest notes are written by the guests. The assistant treats them as information only.

Host: promo code and invitations

Ask: "Make a 10% code WELCOME10 for the jazz night, 50 uses, until the end of December. Then invite [email protected] and [email protected]."

1. create_promo_code with the name, the percentage, usage_limit and ends_at. Percentages are limited to 90, usage to 1,000, and the end date to within a year.
2. invite_guests first returns the cleaned list of addresses and a confirmation token. After you approve, the same request goes out with the token and the invitations are sent.

Try it yourself with the Inspector

1. Run npx @modelcontextprotocol/inspector, choose Streamable HTTP, and enter https://mcp.eventa.live/mcp.
2. Under Tools, run list_events with limit 3. No sign-in is needed.
3. Run get_my_profile. The Inspector walks you through sign-in, then returns your name and username.
4. Check Settings → Connected apps on eventa.live, then disconnect and run get_my_profile again to see the reconnect message.
