Open Seating in the event editor. You need event-edit permission, and the event must use ticket tiers.
Add a section
- Select Add Section or Create Section.
- Enter Section Name and choose Linked Ticket Tier.
- Select Row Naming Style: Numeric (1, 2, 3) or Alpha (A, B, C).
- Enter Number of Rows and Seats per Row. You may start with a quick preset such as Theater, Cabaret, or Bleacher.
- Check Layout Preview and Total Capacity, then create the section.
Linking a tier enables assigned seating for it. Make sure your ticket quantity and section capacity support the intended audience.
Manage the layout
Drag sections to reorder them. Use Edit for supported section details and Append to add rows. The linked tier cannot be changed in the edit dialog. Read any refusal before deleting a section with existing seat commitments.
Total Seats, Available, Reserved, and Sold show how the seating inventory is being used.
Automatic allocation
Turn on Allocate seats automatically when attendees should not choose their own seats. After payment completes, seats are assigned in section order, keeping groups together in a row where possible. This is not a guarantee that every group will sit together.
If a seat picker is offered instead, attendees choose from currently available seats during ticket selection. A held seat can become unavailable to another buyer until its reservation expires.
Staff can also maintain published venue seat layouts. See venue layouts for that separate staff workflow.
